The campaign gradually gained momentum throughout the month, with more and more people entering each day. Prizes included boxes of chocolates (kindly provided by It’s All About the Wrapper), private dining and a luxury food hamper. The star prize was a meal for six people, prepared in your home by Steve himself.

Some of the in-person prizes will have to wait until after lockdown, but Steve and one lucky prize winner did manage to find a window of opportunity. The planets had truly aligned – not only did she win before Surrey went into Tier 4, but it was also a few days before her husband’s birthday! Flexible Steve was able to arrange his diary around this special day, and, after careful liaising over times and keeping the whole thing a secret, he went to the winner’s house to prepare the cream tea. The birthday boy opened the door and the celebrations began!

The cream tea menu featured Darjeeling tea served with fruit scones, strawberry jam and Devonshire cream. The scones were baked to Steve’s special recipe.

A fabulous time was had by all – a wonderful birthday present and a real boost in these challenging times.
